Queens, NY cannabis dispensaries: 8 licensed shops by neighborhood

Cannabis City Guides is an independent publisher, and this page covers licensed cannabis shops in Queens, the New York City borough that is also Queens County and home to both JFK and LaGuardia airports. Every buyer needs to be at least 21 and carry valid photo ID. OCM license data pulled 2 Nov 2026 show 80 active, operating retail locations that the Census geocoder places in Queens County: 42 adult-use retail, 36 CAURD and 2 microbusiness licenses. Eight are profiled here, from Long Island City to the Rockaways. Manhattan, the Bronx and Brooklyn have their own pages, and Staten Island and Nassau County are not covered.

Most visitors to New York City land in Queens, because JFK and LaGuardia both sit inside the borough, and the licensed market here is large: OCM's license data pulled 2 Nov 2026 show 80 active, operating retail locations at addresses the Census geocoder places in Queens County, 36 of them CAURD stores. The airports are another story. Port Authority rules ban smoking in terminal ticketing, boarding, waiting and baggage areas, TSA passes anything illegal its screeners find to law enforcement, and OCM says carrying any cannabis product out of New York is against the law.

This guide covers the Borough of Queens and nothing else. Manhattan, the Bronx and Brooklyn each have their own page; Staten Island and Nassau County stores are excluded. Postal towns can blur that line: some Queens stores carry Bellerose or even New Hyde Park mailing addresses, so the county the geocoder returns, not the town on the envelope, decides what counts as Queens on this page.

The eight shops were picked for location and transit, one in each part of the borough a visitor is likely to reach, not for brand or reputation: Long Island City, Astoria, East Elmhurst near LaGuardia, Flushing, Jamaica beside the AirTrain, Forest Hills, Ridgewood and the Rockaways. On 2 Nov 2026 OCM's data showed every one of the eight licenses active, operating and good for more than 60 more days, and the hours, phone numbers and services below come from each shop's own website as read on 2 or 3 Nov 2026. No listed shop is a client, and none paid for a place here.

How buying works here

  1. 01Age and ID: Sales are for adults 21 and over, visitors included. Under 9 NYCRR 123.10(d) a store can take a passport from any nation, a consular ID card, IDNYC, a U.S. military ID card, or a state, territorial or Canadian provincial driver's license or non-driver ID, and it must refuse anyone who seems under 21 or is visibly intoxicated.
  2. 02Possession: Penal Law 222.05 lets adults carry as much as 3 ounces of cannabis plus as much as 24 grams in concentrated form. Going over either figure is a violation carrying a fine of $125 at most (Penal Law 222.25), and holding over 16 ounces, or over 5 ounces of concentrate, rises to a class A misdemeanor (Penal Law 222.30).
  3. 03Hours: State rules keep New York City stores from selling in the six hours from 2 am to 8 am, absent the city's express written consent or a local law allowing it (9 NYCRR 119.2(a)(1)). Opening times among the eight run from 8 am to noon, and Nice Yield's posted 2 am close is the latest.
  4. 04Tax: Cannabis taxes on each retail sale total 13 percent, 9 percent for the state and 4 percent for New York City, and no sales tax is charged on adult-use cannabis (Tax Law 493; Tax Department).
  5. 05Delivery: Stores may deliver only to homes, short- or long-term residences and private businesses, never to a park, a public building or someone sitting in a car (9 NYCRR 123.20), and OCM's consumer FAQ of 10 Mar 2023 says delivery orders are prepaid and cash is not accepted. Six of the eight shops here deliver; Enflor lists its delivery hours as coming soon, and ESH advertises delivery only for its Rosedale store.
  6. 06Paying: Terp Bros takes cash or debit in store; Happy Alta and House of Strains take cash and debit and have an ATM on site; Kushie lists cash and debit card payments; Seaweed takes cash, debit and text-to-pay and has an ATM in the store; and ESH lists an ATM and a cashless ATM. Nice Yield and Enflor list no in-store payment methods on their sites, so call ahead to ask how to pay.

How do you get from JFK or LaGuardia to a licensed Queens dispensary?

From JFK, take AirTrain JFK to Jamaica station, where it meets the Long Island Rail Road and the E, J and Z at Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport, or to Howard Beach-JFK Airport on the A. MTA's airport guide routes riders both ways with the AirTrain as the final leg, and the airport's AirTrain page says rides between terminals are free while a fare is charged on entering or leaving at Jamaica or Howard Beach. ESH, on Sutphin Boulevard, is about 0.05 mile from the E, J and Z platforms and 0.11 mile from Jamaica station, and the store describes itself as directly across from the LIRR.

From LaGuardia, the Port Authority's transit page lists five MTA bus routes. The Q70 LaGuardia Link, which is free, connects Terminals B and C with Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Av, 74 St-Broadway and the LIRR at Woodside; the Q72 links Terminals B and C with Junction Blvd and 63 Dr-Rego Park; the Q90 runs to Flushing Main Street; the M60 SBS heads to Manhattan; and the Q33 serves Terminal A. MTA's bus feed shows the Q33 also stopping at 83rd Street and Northern Boulevard, about 0.11 mile from Enflor, the licensed Queens store closest in a straight line to the Terminal B and C bus stops and about as close to the Terminal A stop as Terp Bros in Astoria.

OCM's data list two stores this page does not profile that sit beside an airport connection: Cannafamily Dispensary at 102-15 159th Road, about 0.07 mile from Howard Beach-JFK Airport, and Purple Buds at 75-20 Roosevelt Avenue, about 0.06 mile from Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av, where the Q70 and Q33 stop. Check either one on OCM's verification list before you go. Ordering to the arrivals curb is not an option, because 9 NYCRR 123.20 forbids delivery to public spaces, public buildings or anyone inside a motor vehicle.

Neighborhoods, transit, parking

Along the East River, Nice Yield on Jackson Avenue in Hunters Point is about 0.04 mile from Vernon Blvd-Jackson Av on the 7 and 0.36 mile from MoMA PS1. Terp Bros, on Ditmars Boulevard in Astoria, is about 0.21 mile from Astoria-Ditmars Blvd, the northern end of the N and W, and the shop places Astoria Park under a mile to the west. Happy Alta, on Fresh Pond Road in Ridgewood, is about 0.16 mile from Fresh Pond Rd on the M.

Toward the airports, Enflor on 85th Street in East Elmhurst is about 0.11 mile from a Q33 stop at 83rd Street and Northern Boulevard, the route that serves LaGuardia's Terminal A, and about 0.62 mile from 82 St-Jackson Hts on the 7. ESH, on Sutphin Boulevard in Jamaica, is about 0.05 mile from Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport on the E, J and Z and 0.11 mile from Jamaica station, where the LIRR meets AirTrain JFK. House of Strains II on the Whitestone Expressway is about 0.72 mile from Flushing-Main St on the 7, and Kushie on Queens Boulevard is about 0.25 mile from Forest Hills-71 Av on the E, F, M and R.

Out on the Rockaway peninsula, Seaweed on Beach Channel Drive in Arverne is about 0.24 mile from Beach 67 St on the A. Each distance here runs in a straight line from the Census geocoder's point for the shop's street address to station or stop coordinates in MTA's subway, LIRR and bus feeds, so expect the walk to be longer.

Which Queens neighborhood should you shop in?

Shop on your route. Coming in through JFK or the LIRR at Jamaica, ESH on Sutphin Boulevard is the closest of the eight and opens at 8 am Monday to Saturday. For LaGuardia's Terminal A or a stay around Jackson Heights, Enflor on 85th Street sits a short walk from the Q33 on Northern Boulevard. In Long Island City, Nice Yield is beside the 7 at Vernon Blvd-Jackson Av, about a third of a mile from MoMA PS1, with posted hours until 2 am every night.

In Astoria, Terp Bros on Ditmars Boulevard is about 0.21 mile from the end of the N and W line, and its 17 Oct 2023 opening is the earliest among Queens stores active and operating in OCM's data. Kushie, on Queens Boulevard, is about 0.28 mile from Forest Hills Stadium's Tennis Place address and 0.35 mile from the Forest Hills LIRR station. Happy Alta covers Ridgewood from Fresh Pond Road, about 0.16 mile from the M.

In Flushing, House of Strains II on the Whitestone Expressway is about 0.48 mile from Flushing Town Hall and has parking in its retail plaza, though its noon to 8 pm hours are the shortest of the eight. At the beach end of the borough, Seaweed in Arverne is about a quarter mile from Beach 67 St on the A. None of the eight is near Citi Field or the Queens Museum; the closest licensed store to Mets-Willets Point in OCM's data is about 0.81 mile away, and the ballpark bars controlled or illegal substances anyway.

What else should a visitor know about Queens?

Queens is a borough and a county at once, and every shop on this page returns Queens County in the Census geocoder. Flushing Meadows Corona Park, home to Citi Field, the USTA National Tennis Center and the Queens Museum, hosted the 1939 to 1940 World's Fair, themed The World of Tomorrow, and the 1964 to 1965 fair, themed Peace Through Understanding, whose survivors include the Unisphere, the New York State Pavilion and the New York Hall of Science; NYC Parks says the land returned to the city under its present name in 1967.

The airports have long histories of their own. The Landmarks Preservation Commission records that LaGuardia was officially opened on 15 Oct 1939 before crowds estimated at more than 325,000, and its Art Deco Marine Air Terminal, built in 1939 and 1940, is a designated city landmark. The Port Authority dates the dedication of New York International Airport, now JFK, to 31 Jul 1948, and AirTrain JFK opened on 17 Dec 2003.

Expect four seasons. At NOAA's LaGuardia Airport station, normal highs run from 40.2 F in January to 86.4 F in July and normal lows from 28.6 F to 71.9 F; the station averages 45.28 in of precipitation and 29.8 in of snow a year, with about 62 nights at or below freezing and 22 days at 90 F or more. From November to April the calendar includes the Winter Lantern Festival at the Queens County Farm Museum, a Lunar New Year program at Queens College's Kupferberg Center on 31 Jan 2027, and the Mets' first home series at Citi Field from 2 to 4 Apr 2027.

What are the cannabis rules at JFK and LaGuardia airports?

You cannot smoke or vape inside either airport's terminals, on the AirTrain or in airport buses and taxis, and you should not try to fly with cannabis. The Port Authority's Airport Rules and Regulations, issued 27 Jul 2022 for JFK, LaGuardia and its other airports, ban smoking in indoor areas open to the public, naming ticketing and boarding areas, waiting areas, baggage claim, restrooms, bars, restaurants and stores, and in airport ground transportation and vehicles open to the public such as buses and taxis. The few places those rules let a person smoke, such as a rented hotel room or a private car, are written for tobacco.

State law points the same way. Public Health Law 1399-o forbids smoking and vaping where travelers buy tickets, board or wait inside public transportation terminals, and on buses and taxis carrying passengers, and Public Health Law 1399-n defines smoking to include cannabis. Under Penal Law 222.05 an adult may lawfully carry up to 3 ounces within New York, so the trip to the airport is legal; smoking or vaping it in a cab, on the AirTrain or in the terminal is not.

Screening and the flight are federal matters. TSA's guidance is that screeners do not hunt for drugs, but if screening turns up an illegal substance, TSA hands the matter to a law enforcement officer. On that TSA page, updated 27 Apr 2026, medical marijuana is marked as allowed in carry-on and checked bags under special instructions; the entry is about medical marijuana, not adult-use purchases. Federal Register 2026-08176, a rule in force since 28 Apr 2026, moved two narrow groups into Schedule III, drugs containing marijuana that FDA has approved and marijuana held under a state medical marijuana license, and says all other marijuana stays in Schedule I, which is where adult-use purchases still sit. Under 21 U.S.C. 844 it is unlawful to possess a controlled substance without a valid prescription or practitioner's order, and OCM warns that taking any cannabis product into or out of New York, or the country, breaks the law, so leave any cannabis behind before you set off for the airport.

How do you check that a Queens dispensary is licensed?

Scan OCM's Dispensary Verification Tool at the entrance. Under 9 NYCRR 125.16 the tool may be shown only at a licensed retail dispensary, unaltered and in plain sight, with a QR code a smartphone can read from at least 3 feet away, and NYC Health says licensed stores post the state's licensed dispensary decal on or near the main entrance. OCM's verification page lists licensed stores by address, most of them with a website.

The state's two lists do not line up exactly, so it helps to know how the count works. OCM's license data, pulled 2 Nov 2026 from a dataset updated the same day, contain 81 active, operating retail records whose county field reads Queens. The Census geocoder places 80 of them in Queens County and puts one, 64 Henry Street, in Brooklyn. Of the 80, 42 hold adult-use retail dispensary licenses, 36 hold CAURD licenses and 2 hold microbusiness licenses; one of them, a Glen Oaks store on Hillside Avenue, holds a license that runs to 15 Nov 2026.

Records can trail events on the ground. On 2 Nov 2026 the license data still listed Flushing Cannabis Co. on Roosevelt Avenue as operating, while the store's own website said it had closed permanently, and OCM's verification list names some Queens stores that the license data mark as non-operational. If a shop is missing from the list, shows no verification tool, or sells packages without the universal symbol, buy somewhere else.

What do New York's rules require when you buy in Queens?

Valid ID showing you are 21 or older is the main requirement, and out-of-state and foreign visitors qualify. Staff must inspect it under 9 NYCRR 123.10(d), and the rule's list of acceptable documents is broad: driver's licenses and non-driver IDs from New York, other states, U.S. territories, Washington, DC and Canadian provinces; government photo IDs such as IDNYC; passports from any country, the United States included; consular ID cards; and U.S. military ID cards.

Penal Law 222.05 allows anyone 21 or older to buy, hold and transport 3 ounces of cannabis or less, plus 24 grams or less of concentrate, and to hand those amounts to another adult without payment. Exceeding either figure is unlawful possession under Penal Law 222.25, a violation with a maximum fine of $125, and once the total tops 16 ounces of cannabis or 5 ounces of concentrate, Penal Law 222.30 makes the offense a class A misdemeanor. OCM's delivery FAQ uses the 3-ounce and 24-gram figures as the daily cap on delivery purchases, and Penal Law 222.15 lets adults keep up to 5 pounds in their private residence.

State rules frame opening hours. For cities with at least a million residents, 9 NYCRR 119.2(a)(1) rules out adult-use sales from 2 am to 8 am without the city's express written approval or a local law, and it stops the city from holding stores below 70 weekly hours. A separate rule, 9 NYCRR 123.10(e), ties each store to the schedule it filed with its license application or operating plan and requires the hours to be posted inside. For seven of the eight shops here, the hours in OCM's license data differ from those on the shop's website, so call ahead before an early or late visit.

How much tax is added to a cannabis purchase in Queens?

Thirteen percent. Tax Law 493 imposes a 9 percent tax on each retail sale of adult-use cannabis and a further 4 percent that, in a city of a million or more such as New York City, goes to the city. The Tax Department confirms that retail taxes total 13 percent for sales on and after 1 Jun 2024 and that adult-use cannabis products are exempt from sales tax and from the vapor products tax.

Other goods on the shelf follow ordinary sales tax rules: the Tax Department tells cannabis retailers that selling items such as lighters requires a sales tax Certificate of Authority. A separate 9 percent distributor tax is owed when products are sold to the store, before they reach the counter.

Where is it legal to use cannabis in Queens?

Mostly in a private home whose owner agrees. OCM allows adults to consume at home and in most places where tobacco may be smoked, then excludes motor vehicles, private businesses such as restaurant patios, hookah and cigar bars, and federal property. Penal Law 222.10 forbids smoking or vaping cannabis wherever Article 13-E of the Public Health Law bans smoking, and any use at all on school grounds or aboard a school bus; breaking those limits brings a civil penalty no higher than $25 or no more than 20 hours of community service.

City rules close off much of the outdoors. NYC Health says the Smoke-Free Air Act applies to any substance, cannabis included, in parks, on beaches and in pedestrian plazas as well as most workplaces, and its fact sheet extends the list to sports stadiums and their grounds, public golf courses and public gardens. Administrative Code 17-503 applies the ban to every indoor and outdoor area of property run by NYC Parks, leaving out adjoining sidewalks, parking lots, roadside paths through park strips and theatrical productions, and it also covers playgrounds, outdoor dining areas and the 15 feet around hospital entrances.

In Queens that rules out Flushing Meadows Corona Park, which NYC Parks calls the borough's largest park and the site of the 1939 and 1964 World's Fairs, along with Astoria Park and the sand and boardwalk of Rockaway Beach. Gantry Plaza State Park, 12 acres on the Long Island City waterfront, is a State park, and 9 NYCRR 386.1 bans smoking tobacco or any other product in every State park in New York City; NYS Parks' policy leaves only the sidewalks along Center Boulevard outside the ban. Queens Botanical Garden prohibits smoking anywhere on its grounds, and Citi Field bans smoking and vaping pens and has no smoking areas.

Indoors, the owner decides. OCM says landlords, property owners and hotel owners can all prohibit smoking or vaping cannabis on what they own; the Smoke-Free Air Act bars smoking in the indoor common areas of residential buildings with three or more units; and NYC Health says NYCHA's smoke-free policy covers tobacco and cannabis, smoked or vaped, across its developments, while public housing in a federal program follows federal law.

Can you smoke at a Queens dispensary or a lounge?

No. Not one on-site consumption license appears in OCM's statewide license data pulled 2 Nov 2026, and OCM's licensing page still names that license as one of the application windows it expects to open later. State rules do let a licensed dispensary add a limited retail consumption facility to its premises once the Cannabis Control Board approves it (9 NYCRR 123.9(e) and 123.10(o)), and OCM's license data do not record those approvals. Smoking or vaping inside a dispensary is illegal too, since NYC Health applies the ban to any business, so a store's counter is for buying only.

Cannabis Law 77 sketches the license that may come later: consumption premises must sit at least 500 feet from any school grounds and at least 200 feet from a house of worship, no one may have an interest in more than three such licenses, and a holder may not also have a retail dispensary, cultivation, processor, microbusiness, cooperative or distributor license. Until OCM opens that window, no business in Queens can hold one.

Showcase events are sales events. A law Governor Kathy Hochul signed on 20 Mar 2025 created Cannabis Showcase Events, at which licensed dispensaries, and since a 6 Aug 2025 law microbusinesses authorized for retail, may sell from an approved pop-up site or a farmers' or public market for as many as 14 consecutive days in one place, and New York City applicants seek municipal approval through Cannabis NYC; OCM keeps anyone under 21 out of the event area and strictly prohibits consumption inside it.

Which Queens dispensaries deliver, and where can they deliver?

A licensed delivery can be handed over only at a residential address, short-term and long-term stays included, or at a private business, and only inside New York State. Under 9 NYCRR 123.20 a licensee may not deliver to public buildings, public spaces including parks, community centers, school grounds, day-care centers, houses of worship or anyone inside a motor vehicle; 123.10(d)(4) has the courier check ID at the door; and OCM's consumer FAQ says orders are prepaid online or by phone and cash is not accepted.

Six of the eight shops on this page say they deliver. Nice Yield names Long Island City, Astoria, Sunnyside and Greenpoint; Terp Bros covers Queens from its two stores and takes payment through Dutchie Pay before a driver leaves; House of Strains says it reaches from Manhattan to Montauk, and its Flushing page lists noon to 8 pm for retail and delivery at House of Strains II; Kushie lists Forest Hills and neighborhoods from Rego Park to Hollis, with windows that open at 1 pm; Happy Alta delivers within two hours to Queens neighborhoods from Ridgewood to Jamaica and to nearby Brooklyn; and Seaweed's FAQ lists Rockaway Beach, Howard Beach, Broad Channel and Breezy Point.

Two of the eight do not deliver from their Queens stores: Enflor lists its delivery hours as coming soon, and ESH advertises delivery for its Rosedale location. Seaweed says it now delivers to JFK-area hotels, and state rules allow delivery to short- and long-term residences; the hotel decides if guests may smoke in the room.

Can you bring cannabis to Jacob Riis Park, Fort Tilden or Jamaica Bay?

No. Jacob Riis Park, Fort Tilden and the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge belong to the Jamaica Bay Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area, and Gateway's 2026 Superintendent's Compendium prohibits the use of controlled substances, marijuana among them, in every one of its park units, despite state legalization. The same compendium bans smoking at all times on its ocean and bayside beaches and lists Jacob Riis Park's visiting hours as 6 am to 10 pm.

Federal law still governs there: 21 U.S.C. 844 makes possessing a controlled substance without a valid prescription or practitioner's order unlawful, and OCM points out that federal illegality puts national parks and other federal land off limits for consumption. The city's beach at Rockaway and Gateway's beaches at Jacob Riis Park and Fort Tilden all prohibit smoking on the sand, so the practical answer is the same on either side.

Checklist before you buy in Queens

Carry a valid photo ID showing you are 21 or older; New York's rules accept a passport from any country, and Seaweed's site notes that a foreign passport works there. Keep to 3 ounces and 24 grams, and remember OCM's warning that an edible can take up to 4 hours to reach its peak effect.

Confirm the license before paying: find the store on OCM's verification list, scan the tool at the door, and check the package for the universal symbol, which OCM's delivery FAQ says marks a regulated, lab-tested product whose QR code or web address leads to a certificate of analysis.

Settle on a place to use it before paying. That means a private home or a room whose owner permits it, not an airport, the AirTrain, a subway or bus, a car, a city park, the beach or Citi Field, and nothing goes in a bag for a flight out of New York.

Is there a cannabis dispensary inside JFK or LaGuardia Airport?

No. None of the active, operating retail licenses in OCM's data of 2 Nov 2026 is at an airport address. The nearest options sit on the transit links: ESH is about 0.11 mile from the AirTrain's Jamaica station, and Enflor is about 0.11 mile from a stop on the Q33, which serves LaGuardia's Terminal A.

Is it legal to fly home from JFK or LaGuardia with cannabis bought in Queens?

No. Under OCM's guidance it is illegal to bring any cannabis product into or out of New York, or the country, and Federal Register 2026-08176 keeps adult-use cannabis in Schedule I. TSA's officers are not hunting for drugs, yet whatever illegal substance turns up at screening is handed to law enforcement.

Can I smoke cannabis at JFK or LaGuardia before my flight?

Not inside, and not on the way there. Port Authority rules bar smoking in the terminals' public indoor areas, from ticketing and boarding areas to baggage claim, in airport ground transportation and in buses and taxis, and the rules let the airport manager or a location's operator post more no-smoking areas. OCM says smoking cannabis in any car, parked or moving, is illegal.

Can tourists buy cannabis in Queens?

Yes, if they are 21 or older. Passports from every country count as ID under state rules, as do consular cards and driver's licenses issued by U.S. states or Canadian provinces. The limits are on use: no smoking or vaping in parks, on beaches or on transit, no use at all in a car, and nothing taken out of New York.

What hours can Queens dispensaries stay open?

Only within the schedule each store filed with OCM, and in New York City never between 2 am and 8 am without the city's written permission or a local law, as state rules for large cities require. Among the eight shops on this page, opening times run from 8 am to noon and closing times from 8 pm to 2 am.

Is there a cannabis lounge in Queens?

Not under an on-site consumption license. OCM's data of 2 Nov 2026 hold none, and OCM still lists that license as an application window to come. State rules also let a dispensary run a limited retail consumption facility with Cannabis Control Board approval (9 NYCRR 123.10(o)), and NYC Health regards smoking or vaping cannabis in any business, dispensaries included, as illegal.

How can I tell if a Queens cannabis shop is unlicensed?

Licensed stores are required to display OCM's Dispensary Verification Tool, unaltered, with a QR code readable from 3 feet away, and NYC Health says licensed stores post the state's dispensary decal at the entrance. If the tool is missing, the store is not on OCM's list, or packages lack the universal symbol, shop elsewhere.
