The CCG sign

Our mark is a city sign. The bar across the top reads City Guide and 21+, the body carries the letters CCG over the words Licensed and Cited, and the stripe along the bottom joins the Pacific Line green we use for California to the Empire Line orange we use for New York. The same sign sits in the corner of every page, on the age check and on every link preview.

Use the primary version on light backgrounds and the reverse version on dark ones. The one-color version is for print, stamps and embroidery, where the two line colors are not available. The lockup pairs the sign with the name and is the version to use when the name has to be readable on its own.

Icon and avatar

The square icon is the sign without its frame, cropped to the bar, the letters and the stripe. It is the site's favicon and home-screen icon, and it is the right file for app stores and any other square slot. The avatar keeps the frame on a paper background and is the file for social profiles.

The Listed on badge

Licensed shops with a profile on this guide can show the Listed on Cannabis City Guides badge on their own website, linked to their profile. It says that the shop holds a state license and has a profile here. It does not say the shop is a Partner, and it is not an endorsement or a rating.

The embed code and the rules for the badge are on the page for dispensaries.

Colors

Six colors do all the work. Paper and ink carry the pages, the two line colors mark the states, and the two grays are for small labels. The green and orange never change places: green is always California and orange is always New York, on the sign, on the maps and on every state page.

Type

Headlines, the name and the CCG letters are set in Archivo, a grotesque by Omnibus-Type, in its heaviest weight and a wide setting. Labels, license numbers, hours and the words on the sign are set in JetBrains Mono, so a license number reads like the record it is. Both fonts are open source under the SIL Open Font License, and this site serves them from its own domain rather than from a font network.

Patterns and covers

Four patterns extend the sign's parts across a surface: the line map, the rule stripe, the sign grid and the stops. They are for covers, backgrounds and print, not for pages of text. The covers below are sized for the networks named in each file.

How to use the mark

For press use, a different format or anything not covered here, email desk@cannabiscityguides.com.

  • Use the files as they are. Do not recolor, stretch, rotate, outline or add effects to the sign, and keep the green on the left of the stripe.
  • Give the sign clear space on every side at least as deep as its bar.
  • Do not place the sign beside a shop's own logo, a product or a price in a way that reads as an endorsement.
  • Say a shop is a paid partner only if its profile here carries the PAID PARTNER label.
  • Link the Listed on badge to the shop's profile on this site, and use it only while the shop is listed.
  • Do not use the name or the sign to suggest that this site sells cannabis, delivers it or is a government agency.
